June 2003 Newsletter > Program Manager's Corner |
Program Manager's Corner I hope we’re all enjoying the rain Colorado’s been getting lately. Hopefully it will help minimize drought conditions this summer. We all remember too well the hazardous conditions Colorado experienced with more than 37 wildfires last summer. It made several public works agencies realize just how well their departments were prepared to respond. This newsletter is designed to focus on emergency preparedness and management issues for public works agencies. It is intended to present an introduction of the roles and responsibilities of public works in emergency management and provide guidance in developing emergency management plans, requirements for wildfire training, burn recovery and more. Please contact the Colorado LTAP office if there is any specific information you are searching for regarding these issues. Thank you all for your participation in this spring’s training sessions. We’ll resume training again in September. Have a great summer, and above all BE SAFE! -Reneé Cusson Recent Training Program Graduates Colorado LTAP would like to recognize the following training program graduates. We appreciate the dedication not only of the participants, but of their supervisors as well. Thank you for your continued dedication to workforce development. 2nd Quarter Road Scholar Recipients Darryl Oliver - City of Greenwood Village Supervisory Skills and Development Program Graduates 2002 2003
