Supervisory Skills and Development Classes
The Supervisory Skills and Development Program
is a new program is designed to help educate, prepare, and
provide public works employees with the background necessary to
comfortably and confidently perform in a supervisory position. The
courses chosen are intended to provide a fundamental understanding
of the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor and to develop
tools for succeeding in management.

Additional Training Opportunities
AASHTO Roadside Design Web-based Course
This
new and updated training course, developed by AASHTO, is now available
through the Naitonal Highway Institute (NHI). It
is easy to sign up for the course and take it at your computer--at
your leisure and without out-of-state tracel costs. The course
is FREE for FHWA folks, and the fee for State/Local/Private Sector
is listed on the wbsite at $230. Go to the NHI website at http://www.nhi.fhwa.dot.gov/ and
click on the "Online Course" box in the left column.
APWA's Click, Listen & Learn

Click, Listen & Learn conferences offer a
new, cost-effective way of learning and sharing information through
the use of tools sitting on your desk: a telephone and a PC with
web access. Listen to the speakers through your telephone, and
view the visual presentation via the web. Programs average 2 hours
in length, feature live Q&A, and include printed speaker
handouts. Participate from your desk, or in a group setting
by connecting
through a conference/speaker phone and projecting the web image
