Program Topics

Instructor
Ken Skorseth is the Program Manager for the SD LTAP Center. Before this, he was the Field Services Coordinator for the SD LTAP. Ken has studied unpaved roads across the US and has lectured on the subjects of Gravel Road and Low Volume Road Maintenance to engineers, managers, elected officials, and maintenance workers over the past 15 years. He also served as the lead author of the FHWA Gravel Roads Manual.

Larry Weiss is the Central SD LTAP Technical Assistance Provider and has been since 2002. He retired from SDDOT as Chief Engineer in 2002 after 37 years of service in construction, maintenance, operations, and management positions. Larry served 12 years on the Pierre City Commission. He retired from SD Army National Guard as a Colonel in 1994 after 37 years part-time.

Cancellation Policy
Please be considerate of those on the waiting list and cancel early if necessary. A full refund will be made if you cancel no later than 3 business days prior to the training day; otherwise, you will forfeit the registration fee. Someone may substitute for you and sign in during on-site registration.

Registration Fee
The registration fee is $45.00 per person. The fee includes lunch and materials. Invoices will be sent upon receipt of registration form. Invoices can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Payment does not have to be received prior to the training date.

Special Notes
In order to receive Roads Scholar credit for this class, participants must stay until the end of class when it is dismissed by the instructor.
