Agency Traffic Counts
In an effort to help local municipalities better evaluate their road systems, to encourage safety improvements, and better coordinate traffic data with State databases, Colorado LTAP will partner with CDOT to offer free hose traffic counting services for local Colorado agencies on a need-based application process. Colorado LTAP will offer traffic volume or classification data collection services to qualifying agencies. Each traffic count can collect data for a 24-hr or 48-hr period. Colorado LTAP will cover the traffic count related expenses and coordinate with CDOT and the local agency to establish the count locations and dates.

  1. What is the location where traffic data is requested? Please send coordinates (lat/long), a map, or intersection descriptions with cross-streets and noting north/south/east/west of the intersections.

  2. What type of traffic data is requested?

    1. Traffic Volume Counts (24 or 48 hours); OR
    2. Traffic Classification Counts (24 or 48 hours). (Classification counts provide # of Trucks vs. Cars, etc.)

  3. If available, do you need historical traffic data?
